"I'll Walk With You" Peace March

Well I couldn't go to bed Sunday night and then woke up on MLK Day 1/19/26 thinking more about how great a peace walk or march would be since there is no Saturday evening session anymore.

My daughter Camille is an organizer with "Mormons with Hope" and if we could get an even larger organization like MWEG to spearhead it, maybe it could start at multiple temples in many states, and walk singing Primary songs and hymns, holding signs, traveling to DHS ICE facilities or head quarters. I propose that we meet at 4:30 pm on the SW corner of Temple Square (West and South Temple, where we walk 7.2 miles to the ICE facilities. Here are some possible routes (See below). As you see it takes 2 hrs 34 min, and it seems like a good idea to drive to a green line trax station in WVC and Trax to downtown to Temple Square to start the march and for those attending conference. Then we are not adding to downtown congestion and have our cars near by after the march.

I'm sure there is a lot I'm not thinking of, but these are my initial thoughts. And I know organizing and seeing this come to fruition will take a large organization like MWEG for it to be successful. I know Latter-day Democracy will publish along with, TNAT LDS Women Staying Sane, Mormon Democrats and I'm sure many other facebook groups and different organizations. I could ask Utah Overpass Action for help from members in that group too. Let's make it known that members of The Church of Jesus Christ will walk with our immigrant brothers and sisters!
